Sculptor & Illustrator. Born in Vermont, USA. BFA in Illustration from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). Post-graduate studies at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Early work centered around an exploration of social behavior seen through a comic and satiric lens. Recent work is an exploration of the purity of sculptural materials and processes. In 2010 Aaron Distler was selected by Clifford Chance as the most promising sculpture postgraduate student to complete their studies at the University of Arts London. As part of the Award, Aaron Distler was invited to show his work in the Reception at 10 Upper Bank Street. Aaron is currently living and working in London, UK.

 

 

Felt maker & Designer. Zsófia Marx’s (1966) is an artist and felt maker. Her first encounter with handmade felt was at the age of sixteen in her native country Hungary. The material so raw and rugged, that can simultaneously be sophisticated, elegant and playful touched her profoundly. Her fascination and the poetic potential of this ancient form of textile has driven her to embark on a journey. She has traveled in countries where felt is traditionally crafted and used, learned from traditional masters, contemporary artists and designers, who helped and inspired her to find her own voice through this material. In addition to her conceptual work Zsófia designs hats and other portable objects of felt, working from her atelier located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
